Tips & Strategy
Balance athlete development, timing and tournament risk.
Build a tournament-ready roster
An Athlete’s die pool comes from its experience levels, while Ki and learned abilities create additional options. Train a focused fighter early enough to make use of its Dan at the tournament, and keep other athletes available for Village activities and predictions.
Time your actions
Shared training equipment, Adventure and Special Move displays are limited. Check what opponents can take before spending a turn elsewhere. The Sensei’s training acceleration can create a second placement for athletes already on equipment, so plan where those athletes can legally move.
Choose tournament entries carefully
A Dojo may send up to two athletes. Compare their dice and Wound risk with the bracket, and consider whether a reservation is worth giving up another Sensei or Athlete activity. Predictions reward players whose Sensei is not fighting, so non-combat development can still score.
