Gameplay
The four-week calendar, turn sequence, movement, and income.
The map
The map divides Europe into ten regions. Each has a three-letter region code, spaces for Local tiles and Bucket Lists, and a route network. Your pawn shows where you are travelling; Day discs you spend are placed in that same region. The Suitcase track marks the four weeks.
Resources
Coins, Energy, Excitement, and Locals are not limited. Use the Multiplier tiles if the supply runs out. Coins pay for flights and card effects; Energy pays for train travel and other effects; Excitement reduces a Location’s day cost; and Locals pay for some effects.
Weeks and the Suitcase
The game lasts four weeks. At the start of a week, each player draws until they hold seven Location cards. Players then alternate turns, spending days from the current week until nobody has a day left. Each week on the Calendar runs Monday to Sunday, seven days; Saturday and Sunday are the weekend. A day disc’s heart side is its Insider Tip side.
At the end of a week, score all regions, refresh two Festival regions for the next week, resolve income, discard down to seven Location cards (except after Week 4), and pass the First Player token (except after Week 4).
The turn
On your turn, follow this sequence:
- Travel. You may move your pawn from its current region.
- Activity. Take one Location action or choose Write, Rest, or Plan.
- Extras. You may take up to one Local tile action, one Bucket List claim, and one Festival action, if each is available and you meet its requirements.
Repeat turns until you have no days remaining in the current week. You may skip an activity or extra you cannot or do not want to take.
Travel
Your first pawn placement is free. After that, travel by plane costs 4 Coins and can take you to any region. A train costs 1 Energy per route segment and follows the connections between neighboring regions. Some Location effects give free travel or special movement.
Location cards
A Location card shows its region, day cost, tags, an immediate effect, and sometimes a weekday bonus. To visit it, your pawn must be in its region. Spend the card’s day cost, reduced by one for each Excitement you spend, to a minimum of one day. Place the leftmost available Day disc from the current week in that region. Then resolve its effect and any matching weekday bonus; you may choose their order. The card’s own Excitement gain cannot reduce its own visit cost.
Instead of visiting, use a Location card for one of these activities. Discard three cards and spend one day; place that day in your current region:
| Activity | Gain |
|---|---|
| Write | 4 Coins |
| Rest | 2 Energy |
| Plan | Draw 3 Location cards |
End of week
After all players have spent the week’s days, score the regions, refresh the Festival display, and resolve income. Each player gains 2 , plus the resources shown on their Income track. After Weeks 1–3, discard down to seven Location cards or fewer (you may discard more, to draw more next week) and pass the First Player token. After Week 4, proceed to final scoring.
