Corporate Era and Draft
Beginner Corporations, the Corporate Era extended game and the Draft variant from the base rulebook.
Standard game
The rulebook’s default for 2–5 players: no Corporate Era cards, and every player starts with 1 production of each resource. It is the shorter, introductory way to play.
Beginner Corporations
A new player takes a Beginner Corporation (colourless back) instead of being dealt corporations: it gives 42 M€ and 10 project cards, all kept for free. Other players can use normal corporations at the same time.
Corporate Era
The extended game. Add every card marked with the red-and-white Corporate Era icon in its lower left corner, including 2 more corporations (Saturn Systems and Teractor). Players start with no production beyond what their corporation gives.
Corporate Era cards are about economy and technology rather than terraforming, so the game is longer and more complex. It can be combined with the other variants; the solo game always uses it.
Draft variant
For more interaction, draft the research cards instead of just drawing them:
- Each player takes 4 cards, keeps 1 face down and passes the rest.
- Keep 1 of the 3 you receive and pass 2; keep 1 of those 2 and pass the last; take the last card passed to you.
- Look at your 4 kept cards and buy any of them at 3 M€ each; discard the rest.
Pass clockwise in even generations and counter-clockwise in odd ones. Generation 1 has no research phase, so the starting 10 cards are not drafted. Drafting adds time and is not recommended for new players.
