Solo: Arka

Set up Arka, build her action deck and run her automated expedition.

Setup

Use the standard two-player shared setup and complete your player setup through the opening display. For Milestones, draw four cards, choose three to display as common Milestones, and return the fourth to the box. Skip the multiplayer Milestone draft.

Give Arka her Tableau, four personal Station Sites, five Stations, fifteen Explorers, three Milestone Tiles and all Upgrades of one color. Shuffle her Milestone cards and place three face down below her Tableau. Put one Explorer on the first step of her Expedition Path, another on the Rondel start, and her Expedition marker on space 1 of the Expedition Track. She has no Energy marker.

Take her nine Action cards with one star. Add starless cards according to difficulty: 1–2 for Standard, 3–4 for Legendary, or 5 for Epic. Shuffle them into Arka’s deck.

Arka’s turn

Arka reveals the next Action card and performs its instructions. Move her Rondel Explorer the number of spaces shown and resolve the actions it passes. If an action cannot be performed, move that Explorer one step forward on the Rondel instead. Track the stars on cards she has played this round. When she has reached the round’s star limit, she passes. Her Expedition Level track determines the star limit. The rulebook shows an initial limit of three stars and a later example at four stars, but does not specify a round or Milestone that triggers the increase. Recycle her played cards when the deck runs out.

If an action card instructs Arka to claim an action space, she places an Explorer there but does not perform the space’s reward. Her card instructions specify her priorities for choosing Landscapes, Experts, Stations and other targets; follow those priority rules exactly.

Arka’s Milestones and score

At the end of rounds 3, 5 and 6, resolve Arka’s Milestone from left to right. She automatically scores the lower threshold. She earns the higher value only when the card’s comparison condition is met against you. Flip a scored card face down and place its matching tile on it.
