Solo Campaign
Play four linked challenges and carry your score through the campaign.
Campaign overview
Solo mode is a four-game campaign. Each game has its own rule changes and challenge. Add the four results to get your campaign score. The campaign can also be played competitively; use the multiplayer variant rules below when the scenario calls for them.
Game 1
Play six rounds. At the end, gain 12 points for each achieved goal: Quality of Care 13 or higher, Prestige at least 25, Credit income at least 35, or at least 7 production in one of Diagnostics, Healing, Research or Staff.
Game 2
Play five rounds under the standard rules.
Game 3
Take a second Hospital board for eight Patient spaces. In a 3–4 player game, use discarded Medical cards to mark the extra spaces. Draw twice the usual number of Patients each round. Continue until round 7 or until you must reduce Quality of Care; that reduction ends your game.
Game 4
Complete one objective at each difficulty level: one at difficulty 1, one at 2, one at 3 and one at 4. A single objective cannot count for multiple tiers.
| Objective | Difficulty 1 | Difficulty 2 | Difficulty 3 | Difficulty 4 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Prestige | 8 | 16 | 24 | 32 |
| One resource production track | 3 | 5 | 7 | 9 |
| Ambulance laps | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 |
| Level-5 Insurance Contracts | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 |
End when you complete the goal or reach the end of round 7. Completing it in round 5 gives 100 bonus points; round 6 gives 60. Reaching round 7 without completing it costs 20 points.
Solo checks
When checking an undiagnosed Patient with two or more Time, look only at the priority corner on the card. Do not inspect its treatment difficulty. This designer clarification is in the FAQ.
Solo scoring variant
For the solo play rules, start at 90 Victory Points. At each Cleanup, lose 1 point for each Congress Doctor still on the board. At game end, lose 5 more points per Congress Doctor still there.
Multiplayer campaign variant
When a player claims a Congress Doctor, also give them one Time token. At each Cleanup, score one point per Time token on your board; score five per token at game end.
