Pick cutting areas openly, one round ahead, in clearing order.

What changes

You know where next round’s wood and food will be, and choose cutting areas openly instead of secretly.

Setup changes

• Each player keeps 1 cutting area token; the number on its back doesn’t matter. Put the other five back in the box.
• Before each round starts, reveal the next round’s placement cards: 3 with 4 players, 2 with 3 players, 1 with 2 players.

Choosing cutting areas

Choose next round’s cutting area in reverse starting-player order: the player last on the starting-player track chooses first (that is the player who reached the forest clearing first).

Each player must choose a free area: two players never share one. To pick first next round, be first into the clearing.
