Game End and Scoring
When Galileo's Truth ends and how final scoring works: Natural Philosopher status in the Cathedral, rank scoring, End-Game Inventions, Scoring Mentors, Penance Cards and the Stake.
When the game ends
The game ends after the End of the Cycle Phase of Cycle 5 (there is no clean-up). Then comes final scoring.
During final scoring, moving on the Scoring Track never raises Suspicion, Travel Tiles give nothing, and you go straight through every fork. A marker already on a longer path finishes it normally.
Gaining points
Natural Philosopher status
Your status combines your Principle Coin and where your Natural Philosopher ends the game. Move the figure to the matching space of the Cathedral at the top of the main board (several players may share a space) and score the VP above it:
| Where your figure is | ||
|---|---|---|
| Free — on an action space or beside your board | 15 VP | 10 VP |
| Prison | 10 VP | 5 VP |
| The Stake | 5 VP | 0 VP |
These values are read off the Cathedral of the main board.
Rank scoring
Score 4 VP for each other player who scored fewer VP than you for status.
End-game bonuses
- Your
End-Game Scoring Inventions (all of them). - Your Scoring Mentor, if you unlocked it (all of them).
Losing points
- Penance Cards: for each one you own — hand, deck, discard pile or play area — lose the VP printed on it. Only cards you paid to remove are safe.
- The Stake: if your Natural Philosopher is at the Stake and your Suspicion rose again afterwards, lose 2 VP per Suspicion on your track (marker on 3: −6; on 0: nothing).
Winner
Most VP wins. Ties go to the tied player who is earliest in turn order.
