Common mistakes

  • Use Pace for movement; the 4–5–2 phase has separate player groups and the attacker’s final two players move only up to two hexes each. Ruling · Rule
  • A steal attempt in a defender’s Zone of Influence uses the printed 6 result, not Tackling plus a die. Ruling · Rule
  • A snapshot gives the defender a one-player move before the shot and applies the snapshot penalty. Ruling · Rule
  • A tied contest creates a loose ball; do not award possession automatically. Ruling · Rule
  • A goalkeeper’s free movement into the box and its saving dive are separate movement opportunities. Ruling · Rule

Is a shot a goal when the goalkeeper cannot reach its path? Official

Does a defender add Tackling to the die when trying to steal from the ball carrier’s Zone of Influence? Official

No. The printed rule uses a 6 for this steal attempt. The designer explains that this rewards positioning and represents a chance to poke the ball away; the Tackling attribute is used in an active tackle contest.
