Solo: Pinzetta
Setup and rules for the official Pinzetta automa mode.
Setup
Set up shared components for two players, with the adjustments shown in the numbered solo setup checklist. Do not use the first-player token. Remove attendee cards 1, 5, 6 and 9. Replace the event deck with Pinzetta’s event cards. Choose a human mat without Pinzetta on its back. Pinzetta uses the mat whose ID matches the yellow contest card. Put the human and Pinzetta Daily Collections below the mat, set out appraisal tokens, decision cards and player aids, and choose difficulty 1–3. For an introductory game, omit Pinzetta’s forever stamp and Show Phase scoring deck.
Collect and round setup
Draw one Pinzetta event card and place the top-section items in her Daily Collection as indicated; facedown stamps stay hidden from the human. Draw a second event card: its middle items form the human collection, which may be examined, and its bottom instruction applies. Resolve any human collect-phase specialist, discard both event cards, then advance the phase token. Pinzetta ignores attendee abilities.
Appraisal and swap
Pinzetta’s item appraisal assigns one token to attendee cards and forever stamps; four to face-up rare stamps; one to a face-up stamp valued exactly 2 or 3; and two to stamps matching a size shown on her mat. A stamp meeting both latter tests gets three. Facedown stamps can match a target size. Pinzetta’s pile score is its tokens plus one for the large pile.
The human reserves one item and splits the rest into two piles with sizes differing by exactly one. Appraise both, shuffle decision cards, and remove the number of tokens shown on a drawn card from the more valuable pile (the printed large-pile token is removable; ties remove from the large pile). Pinzetta takes the pile with more remaining tokens; ties go to the large pile.
Then appraise Pinzetta’s items. If her piles differ by at least three tokens, swap the highest-token item in the larger pile with the lowest-token item in the smaller pile; ties resolve leftmost. Choose one pile and keep the other for Pinzetta. Return appraisal tokens to supply.
Show
The human plays the normal Show. Pinzetta reveals facedown stamps and places them in matching mat boxes: non-rare stamps by size/value, rare stamps in the rare box, and forever stamps/cards in their areas. Draw a Show Phase scoring card and use the entry matching a contest on the board, multiplied by the day’s multiplier (1/2/3).
End of game
Pinzetta loses 20 points at difficulty 1 or 10 at difficulty 2; there is no adjustment at 3. She scores forever stamps normally (including the imaginary collector with three), her mat using a decision card, and rare-stamp values only. She does not score specialist points or the Finale contest. In introductory mode, her fixed score is 110/125/140 at difficulty 1/2/3 and she does not score the other categories. If final scores tie, apply the normal rare-stamp tie-break; the solo FAQ confirms a continuing tie is a shared victory.
