The Counterfeiters
Add glassware, counterfeit cards, and a changing Royal display.
Setup changes
Shuffle the 17 Counterfeiter cards into a deck and reveal three between the level-three cards and Victory tile. Add the four glassware tokens to the bag before filling the 25 board spaces, leaving four random tokens in the bag. Shuffle all 12 Royal cards together, reveal four, and keep the rest as a draw pile.
New actions and tokens
Glassware counts as a non-gold token when taking tokens and can be used like gems or pearls for payment. Taking three glassware in one line gives your opponent a Privilege. It counts toward the ten-token limit unless a card says otherwise.
You may buy one face-up Counterfeiter card as a mandatory action by paying its cost, which always includes glassware. Replace it from the Counterfeiter deck. Gold may substitute for glassware. Counterfeiter cards are not Jewel cards and cannot be reserved.
When taking a Privilege, you may choose glassware from the board. The new Counterfeiter cards can alter token costs, Privilege use, reserves, and turn timing. Each may be used once during your turn; you may use several different card abilities on the same turn.
Royals and victory
The expansion adds eight Royal cards. Some show alternate winning thresholds; apply the condition printed on a Royal you own alongside the base victory conditions. Royals taken through a Counterfeiter ability are replaced from the Royal deck; Royals claimed at the usual crown thresholds are not replaced. Check the current conditions at the end of each turn.
