Solo: Resafabot

Run the official Resafabot solo mode and score against the printed goals.

Setup

Use the 1–2-player board and set the game up as a two-player game. Choose a colour for Resafabot and take its wooden markers and canal tiles, but not a player board, resources or merchant tokens. Shuffle the bot’s canal tiles with no water tank showing. Put bot and human markers at the start of all four colour tracks. Use the seven solo cards: the setup card goes below the six action cards, with one random solo card beside it to place the bot’s first canal tile at its arrowed palm-tree square. Shuffle the six action cards and place the canal setup card on top, with the full yellow stripe at left.

Resafabot turn

Flip the top bot card beside the deck. Its arrow selects the upper or lower action on the card to its right and its colour. Resolve its colour action first: either discard the indicated bonus card (searching leftward and wrapping through that colour row if necessary) or move the bot two spaces on that colour track. If a special-card space is reached, remove its card and reveal the next one; reveal the next level as directed. The bot has no colour-track level restrictions.

Resolve the red-outlined bot action instead of Production or Garden Construction. For Workshop Construction, remove and refill the indicated workshop; use level II once the player could build it (round 3 onward and two merchant tokens). For Provisions, move the bot two steps on the indicated track, or on its furthest track when marked. For Canal Construction, place a tile in the direction shown from the bot’s previous tile, choosing the first open space in the opposite direction if needed; remove any canal bonus there. A water tank is drawn from deeper in the stack when the card points to a tank space. For Trading, place the bot’s marker in the leftmost open base space at the first listed city; if occupied by its marker, try the next listed city. Flip that city’s trading tile. The bot never gains points or handles resources.

After both sides have played three action cards, switch the starting player. After six rounds, score the human normally. The rules suggest 150 VP as a starting target, 180 good, 200 very good and 220+ excellent.

Solo rules question

The official rulebook does not specify who chooses a bot-triggered water cube route during Rain. That question remains open in the BGG Rules forum; do not assign the bot a route-choice rule without an agreed house rule.
